Good Wife

I just love this show more and more every week.

It's a terrible confession to make, but true: if Gary Cole asked me to run away with him--even Teaparty supporting, Sarah Palin-loving Gary Cole, I think I would have to say yes. (EEP! Probably just as well I am not Diane! Though considering that I first fell for him when he was basically playing Satan on American Gothic, I guess comparatively speaking a Teaparty supporter is not so bad).

Ok, I have a real thing for enemy slash (or I suppose in this case enemy het), and being drawn to totally inappropriate people, so the whole Diane-Kurt romance is totally hitting my bulletproof kink. I completely loved that scene where they have obviously already had sex and he points out he hasn't signed the retainer yet and she goes back for round two. I also loved that he clearly got turned on when she was kicking ass in court. I hope they keep bringing him back as a recurring character. Inappropriate love interests are fun.

And speaking of inappropriate love interests--I was deeply amused that they decided to play Eli as having a crush on America Ferrara's character. I thought at first he was showing he had a human side by not wanting her to get deported because he associated her with his daughter. (And because she was so clearly a bright, warm, genuinely awesome person who shouldn't be used as a pawn in a political scheme. I really hope she doesn't end up getting deported--that would totally suck). Too bad his infatuation wasn't strong enough to really motivate him to do the right thing, but at least he had the right impulse, which seems almost like character growth to me.

Meanwhile, Grace has a crush on Jesus, but clearly doesn't know him very well. I thought Alicia handled that whole thing quite adeptly--the look on Grace's face when she was looking at the Bible suggested to me "oh, I was into this Jesus stuff before there was homework involved." Also I do think Alicia called it right, that Grace is looking for a cause to rebel for and this just happens to be one she got interested in because of her friend.

I wonder if the Kalinda-Blake conflict is going to come to a climax next week at the same time as the partnership throwdown, or if they're going to stretch that out more?

I believe America Ferrara's character is supposed to have 2 more episodes, but like you I really hope they don't have an actual romance.

I also really loved the wine/crack comment. Hee!

Re: motivate him to do the right thing,
I don't actually think getting someone deported to gain political advantage can be characterized as "the right thing," though.

Re: motivate him to do the right thing,
I guess, that is because you define "the right thing" as the "ethical and morally right thing" to do, right?

for me, the "right thing" is what is the "required right thing" for the job, that I have been hired for.
and with such a definition, Eli ain't do anything wrong in the political arena :D

he is like a modern gladiator!! its either his candidate or that other black female canditate!
