Blood Ties: Necrodome

I don't have a lot to say about this episode, but I found the mystery surprisingly moving. Those scenes with Diesel in the cage, where he obviously just wants to go back to being dead, almost made me cry, and I also found how upset Coreen and Vicki were at the online fight scene surprisingly moving.

I also liked the little bit we learned about Dr. Mohadevan in this episode. It's nice to get hints that the supernatural is very much a part of this world, it's just not spoken of out loud. It makes Vicki's job actually more valuable; not only is she solving crimes no one will solve, but her existence allows people to speak the unspeakable. And really, who *does* one go to when a corpse reanimates and walks out of your mortuary?

I felt really bad for the mortician, that the bad guy turned out to be his son, because we saw from the episode itself how important it is for people to be able to say goodbye to their loved ones, so what he does for a living was validated--it's too bad his son couldn't see that.

I liked the character development we got for Henry in this episode. We got to see more of his past (that story about the dumpster, and his 20s gangster talk, completely cracked me up) and also saw that he *is* a valuable source of knowledge for Vicki, not simply the supernatural muscle. And the theme about the attractive power of death was very interesting. I was also amused at how adamant he was about the difference between being a vampire and being a reanimated corpse. Though the fact that vampires have souls in this universe is an interesting data point.

Finally, I loved the Coreen-Vicki banter in this episode. "Klepto!" Hee. And I loved Coreen's hair. (What can I say, I'm shallow. And clearly need to make a Coreen icon.)

He really was amazing, since so much of what he conveyed was just through the expression in his eyes.
