Home for the holidays

Well, at my parents, anyway, in the "greater Chicagoland area." There were times today I wasn't sure I'd make it--cancelled flight, rerouted, rerouted again, delayed, etc. etc., and my bag is apparently in San Francisco--but honestly in the history of my airport travel nothing too dramatic. I didn't even end up in a middle seat. I really do hope my clothes arrive tomorrow, though.

I went shopping with my dad tonight since my parents generally don't have food I eat, and discovered a wondrous thing: spinach and feta pierogis. It's like my two very favorite things in one dish! I am very excited. I realize it is not authentically Polish, and sometime next week I will go to a store and get authentic Polish pierogi (preferably handmade), but California doesn't even generally have fake Polish food, so I don't know if spinach/feta pierogi are old hat to midwesterners or something new and exciting. (The lack of Polish food is pretty much my biggest complaint about living in California).

Really my favorite flavor combination. I eat WAY too much Trader Joe's spanakopita for my own good.
